The Role
As an Automation Engineer, you will support the design and testing of software components and solutions for a global testing platform. This platform is intended to be used on autonomous vehicles and advanced control systems to infotainment, cloud-connected features and integration of consumer electronic technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the build of products and services that enable global test automation at scale.
* Write and maintain test automation scripts that are globally reusable, ensuring that test coverage meets agreed upon standards.
* Provide strategic input into modern software testing approaches.
* Design and implement software features to meet desired user experience, functional, and security requirements, coordinating efforts with product owner and development leads.
* Create, maintain, and contribute to documentation including code comments, wiki pages, and READMEs.
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and technical experts to support project execution.
* Positive contribution to design discussions in software engineering practices.
* Ability to contribute to software best practice discussions.
Your Profile: Key skills/knowledge/experience:
* Industry experience in testing enterprise application is a must.
* Extensive enterprise application software testing experience.
* Strong current experience in Python or another OO language.
* Experience advocating practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming.
* Capacity to define test environments and test requirements based upon project milestones.
* Ability to give clear communication to Test Platforms/Enablers in order to have all associated test environment delivered on time.
* Ability to continuously monitor and control SW test activities.
* Understanding of skills Matrix of SW Test Qualification squad to track the required needs to achieve SW Qualification test strategy and to highlight this to the SW Test Chapter Lead.
* Capacity to maintain close communication with the SW Test Chapter Lead.
* Experience with source code management and version control (Git/GitHub/GitLab).
* Experience with modern CI/CD tools and techniques.
* Exposure to Agile environment, to deliver strategic business outcomes.
Good to have:
* Self-motivation, flexibility, with strong social skills.
* Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and associated tools such as Jira, confluence.
* Experience in Test Driven Development & Gherkin.
