The Lead Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to enhance employee skills, performance, and knowledge. This role ensures that training initiatives align with company objectives and industry best practices while mentoring site trainers and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive continuous learning and development.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor the team of transport trainers, providing guidance and professional development.
* Coordinate and assign training responsibilities among trainers.
* Ensure consistency in training delivery and adherence to best practices.
* Work closely with Transport operations, HR, and management to identify training needs.
* Develop training strategies to address skill gaps and enhance employee performance.
* Act as a key liaison between trainers, employees, and leadership to ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Develop and implement training programs for transport colleagues aligning with company and industry standards.
* Ensure all training programs comply with company policies and industry regulations.
* Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
* Provide reports and recommendations to management regarding training effectiveness and improvements.
* Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback and KPIs.
* Update training materials to reflect best practices and regulations.
* Conduct audits and checks to ensure compliance with RSA regulations.
* Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
* Coordinate with external providers for specialised training.
* Maintain a training schedule for timely and relevant sessions.
* Support new technology implementation with training.
* Foster an engaging learning environment.
Experience, Skills and Education:
* In-depth knowledge of transport regulations and legal requirements.
* CPC completed.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
* Ability to assess training needs and develop tailored solutions.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word).
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
