Talent Partners are recruiting for a motivated Operational Risk Specialist to join a dynamic and growing financial services business. Reporting to the Head of Operational Risk, you will play a key role in strengthening operational risk practices across the organisation, supporting strategic objectives and ensuring resilience in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities in the role will include:
* Risk Identification & Assessment: Evaluate operational risks across business units and collaborate with teams to ensure full visibility of risk exposure.
* Risk Mitigation & Controls: Support the development and implementation of effective controls. Monitor control performance and suggest improvements.
* Operational Risk Framework: Enhance and maintain the framework to align with regulatory and industry standards.
* Incident Management: Oversee incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
* Policy & Procedures: Draft and update risk-related policies, ensuring consistent communication and adherence across teams.
* Training & Awareness: Promote a risk-conscious culture through awareness initiatives and targeted training.
* Reporting & Communication: Prepare risk reports and dashboards for senior management. Liaise with auditors and committees as required.
* 2nd Line Testing & Oversight: Support regular assessments across areas such as IT/cyber risk, legal & regulatory risk, financial crime, customer experience, and business continuity.
Desired Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
* 4+ years of experience in operational risk, ideally within financial services or fintech.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk, or related field; professional certifications (e.g. CRM, CORM) are a plus.
* Strong working knowledge of risk principles, frameworks, and relevant regulations.
* Experience with risk management tools/software (advantageous).
* Familiarity with the Central Credit Register and the Credit Reporting Act 2013 (advantageous).
* Analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders.
* Proactive, organised, and capable of working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
