Data Protection Officer (DPO) - TIB44526
Here at Osborne, we’re delighted to be partnered with one of Ireland’s major semi-state organisations which is looking to add an experienced Data Protection professional to its Compliance & Risk team.
As an important member of this team, you will work alongside the CLO and the Head of Compliance in a key role focusing on the oversight of a multitude of issues in data protection, compliance and governance, which can affect the organisation and its managed entities.
Role and Responsibilities
* Advising on and monitoring compliance with GDPR and other international data protection laws and regulations.
* Assignment of compliance, training and awareness responsibilities within the organisation.
* Monitor and take appropriate measures to resolve complaints made with regards to data protection procedures and internal policies.
* Continuous risk management regarding the processing of data within the organisation and managed entities.
* Frequent communication with the DPC on processing issues.
* Lead, mentor and manage more junior team members, with a constant eye on innovation, improvement and data protection developments.
* Reporting ongoing project progress to Audit and Risk committees, the CLO and Head of Compliance.
* Development and implementation of the organisation's data protection and compliance plan.
Candidate Characteristics
* At least 8 years working in Data Protection, with at least half of that in a management capacity.
* Professional qualification in Data Protection or equivalent, relevant third-level qualification.
* Strong knowledge and understanding of data protection, risk and compliance in the context of the local/EU financial industry.
* Strong understanding of Financial Markets and FS Products.
* Demonstrable deep-rooted experience of working with a diverse set of stakeholders, with a proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels, promoting a solid culture of data protection internally and externally.
* The confidence and ability to challenge senior leaders in situations where the organisation is exposed to risk.
* The ability to work confidently, flexibly and with integrity while having a recognisable personal impact on the office and those you engage with.
* Demonstrable IT skills especially when using project management tools, Office Suite, and experience working with privacy and governance platforms and applications.
