Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Professional to join our team within the Life Sciences & Projects sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding our portfolio of life sciences projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the life sciences industry, strong sales acumen, and the ability to navigate complex projects from inception to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Strategy:
1. Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the life sciences sector, focusing on projects related to pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, medical devices, and related industries.
2. Create and implement business development strategies to expand the company’s client base, market share, and service offerings in the life sciences industry.
3. Analyse market trends, identify emerging opportunities, and stay ahead of industry developments to recommend growth strategies to senior leadership.
Client Relationship Management:
1. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients, including pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, research institutions, and biotech firms.
2. Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services or project work.
3. Understand client needs, provide tailored solutions, and work closely with the project management and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
Proposal Development & Presentations:
1. Lead the creation of compelling proposals, RFP responses, and presentations to win new business.
2. Work with internal teams to gather technical and operational input to develop competitive, high-quality proposals.
3. Present business proposals to clients, articulating the company’s value proposition, differentiators, and capabilities.
Project Management Oversight:
1. Support project managers and technical teams in the planning and execution of life sciences projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and timelines.
2. Monitor the progress of key projects, providing updates to clients and senior management on milestones, deliverables, and performance metrics.
3. Facilitate communication between clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of projects.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
1. Monitor competitor activities, industry trends, and new regulations affecting the life sciences sector.
2. Provide insights and recommendations to leadership regarding potential strategic partnerships, acquisitions, or new market segments.
3. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, business development activities, and client feedback.
Networking & Industry Representation:
1. Attend industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to build the company’s visibility and attract new business.
2. Cultivate a professional network within the life sciences industry, leveraging connections for potential business opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
1. Work closely with marketing, technical, and operational teams to ensure successful business development and project outcomes.
2. Collaborate with senior management to align business development goals with organizational strategy.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the life sciences or healthcare industry.
2. Proven track record of securing new business, managing key accounts, and driving growth in a highly competitive sector.
3. Familiarity with the life sciences project lifecycle, from pre-sales through project execution and delivery.
Industry Knowledge:
1. Deep understanding of the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and healthcare.
2. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, trends, and challenges within the life sciences industry.
Communication & Negotiation Skills:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver persuasive presentations and proposals.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
1. Ability to analyse client needs and market data to develop effective business strategies.

Project Management:
1. Experience in overseeing complex projects with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
2. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Tech-Savvy:
1. Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Zoho) and business development software.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
