Our client in Killarney, a leading manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Planning Team Lead to join their team.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and overseeing a team of 2, you will be responsible for driving sales, inventory, and operational planning initiatives to meet customer demand dates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop comprehensive sales, inventory, and operational plans that align with customer demand dates while optimizing production workflows and capacity utilization.
* Collaborate with the team to implement strategies that ensure material availability and satisfy manufacturing and customer requirements.
* Lead sales order review meetings to ensure on-time delivery commitments are met and maintain open communication with customers.
* Create a weekly Master Production Schedule, production planning reports, and shipping requirements that drive efficiency and accuracy.
* Anticipate subcontracting needs, manage capacity constraints, and negotiate pricing agreements with suppliers as necessary.
* Schedule customer orders based on material availability, production line capacity, and customer requests while minimizing delays.
* Manage materials management processes, including direct purchasing and call-offs from suppliers, to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
* Monitor incoming deliveries, inventory levels, and material shortages to mitigate potential disruptions to production.
* Collaborate with production operations leads, supervisors, and management to develop and communicate production plans that meet customer commitments.
* Process freight and duty invoices accurately and efficiently.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with ISO system requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in production planning in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably make-to-order or similar.
* Relevant education in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent combination of qualifications and work experience.
* Desirable: supervisory experience, lean manufacturing knowledge, and advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
