The Arup Ireland Buildings Sustainability Team is a group of engineers, architects and sustainability practitioners working with our colleagues in Ireland, Europe, and around the world to drive sustainable solutions for clients across a wide range of projects and locations. We work very closely with design teams to drive low energy & low carbon designs as well as provide a range of advisory services to our clients directly. The services the team provides are essential to Arup’s mission of shaping a sustainable world.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Sustainability Consultant for a leadership role within our established and growing team with experience across many aspects of sustainability in the built environment including but not limited to building performance analytics, green building certifications, and carbon calculations.
As a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Arup, you will:
1. Represent Arup with client-facing advice on sustainability, providing building performance, planning and advisory services.
2. Lead sustainability and building physics projects autonomously through the full project life cycle.
3. Collaborate with Arup colleagues within the European Region and across the globe to develop capabilities and support international projects & clients.
4. Support research including internal and external research & development initiatives.
5. Support development of capabilities across our range of services including certifications, building physics and performance analytics within Arup.
6. Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Does this role inspire you?
We're looking for someone who is passionate about sustainability and building performance. These are the essential skills and qualifications for the position:
1. Experience leading & managing multidisciplinary projects in a client-facing role focused on delivering leading sustainability outcomes for clients autonomously, on time, and within budget.
2. Ability to provide clear, technically sound reports and verbal communications.
3. Degree in Architecture, Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
4. Minimum 5 years full-time experience.
5. Organised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work.
6. Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
We also value:
1. Currently hold or are working towards achieving Chartership with an appropriate professional body.
2. Professional certification in a green buildings rating system preferred (LEED AP, etc.)
3. Technically excellent with in-depth knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
4. Experience in a wide range of project types (i.e. commercial office, healthcare, education, etc.)
5. Experience with IES and/or other energy modelling software a plus.
6. Experience with Python scripting and/or Grasshopper for Rhino a plus.
