Role Overview:
As the Global Design Lead, you will report directly to the Senior Global Design Manager and oversee the engineering design aspect of PepsiCo’s global capital initiatives. Your focus will be on ensuring the capacity and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) of the PGCS operations. You’ll manage a diverse team of engineers to create and implement robust design solutions across PepsiCo’s facilities, utilizing advanced automation and robotics technology to ensure the future sustainability and operational efficiency of our plants.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive Innovation: Lead the design and execution of cutting-edge capital programs that directly impact the capacity and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for PepsiCo’s PGCS business—transforming how we operate globally.
* Revolutionize Operations: Create and implement next-generation automation and robotics systems, redefining materials handling and streamlining processes to reduce risks and maximize operational efficiency.
* Future-Proof the Business: Spearhead the integration of disruptive technologies to modernize PepsiCo’s concentrate plants, ensuring they stay ahead of industry trends and prepared for future challenges.
* Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Manage and inspire a diverse, high-performance team of 20+ engineers, collaborating across regions to deliver complex, global projects on time and within budget.
* Shape PepsiCo’s Global Engineering Blueprint: Set the standard for design excellence by sharing best practices across PepsiCo’s global operations and drawing inspiration from cutting-edge industries to elevate our engineering capabilities.
* Drive Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and expertise throughout the design lifecycle, from conceptualization and procurement to commissioning and process qualification, ensuring all projects align with PepsiCo’s high engineering standards.
* Solve Big Challenges: Apply your technical expertise to develop innovative solutions that tackle critical operational challenges—turning problems into opportunities for growth and operational excellence.
* Champion Sustainability: Advocate for sustainable, environmentally responsible design practices, ensuring our engineering solutions deliver long-term value for both PepsiCo and the communities we serve.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven track record in leading and delivering large-scale capital projects in complex, global environments.
* Deep knowledge of automation, robotics, and materials handling technologies (e.g., ASRS, AMR, AGVs, smart equipment).
* Experience in integrating new technologies into manufacturing operations and systems.
* Strong technical leadership abilities with the capacity to drive change and influence cross-functional teams.
* Skilled in delivering projects within budget, on time, and in accordance with the highest engineering standards.
* Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
* A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant engineering experience.
* Degree in Mechanical, Automation, Chemical, Process Engineering, or a related field.
