HGV Mechanic and Fitter
Our client, a family-owned and managed company providing waste collection services across the domestic, commercial, industrial and building sectors is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic for their Galway facility.
The organization's comprehensive waste management service includes the collection and safe disposal of solid and liquid waste. With over 80 team members, they are now looking to recruit an experienced and professional HGV Mechanic and Fitter to support their operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Repair and maintenance of HGVs, plant and equipment to ensure smooth and safe operation of the business.
* Plan and coordinate maintenance/CVRT testing of all equipment with line manager/supervisor in line with maintenance schedule.
* Understand job system and work on different vehicles at any given time.
* Adhere to workshop systems.
* Assist with planning of vehicle maintenance, ordering of parts and coordination of works with other garage staff.
* Meet weekly to review current workload and resource planning with operations manager or supervisor.
* Assist with planning of works for following weeks and identify any procurement items that need to be sourced by others and deliver ongoing status reports as and when required.
Requirements
* Ability to work with and as part of a team, and under own initiative.
* Experience of MIG welding desirable.
* Ability to use vehicle diagnostic systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and general computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Google Sheets and related business applications.
* Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
* Full clean driver's license (Class C).
