Job Title: Senior Claims Handler

Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Senior Claims Handler to join our client, a leading specialist in the insurance sector. This is a full-time, permanent role based in South Dublin, offering a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Claims and work closely with both the claims and underwriting teams.
Your Role:
* Manage a portfolio of large loss personal injury claims (Motor/EL/PL) from notification through to settlement.
* Ensure accurate claim reserving and regularly review reserves for appropriate financial forecasting.
* Provide an excellent customer experience while capturing all critical data at the initial claim stage.
* Proactively handle all incoming correspondence to ensure early and cost-effective resolution of claims.
* Conduct desktop investigations at the initial stage, confirming indemnity and liability where possible.
* Negotiate settlements professionally and fairly with all relevant parties.
* Report any changes in claim complexity to the Claims Manager to ensure appropriate action is taken.
* Conduct regular file and reserve reviews in line with agreed service levels.
* Manage personal performance targets to meet both individual and team objectives.
Your Skills:
* A minimum of 7 years' experience handling large loss personal injury claims.
* APA or Grandfathered status is essential, with CIP qualification (or working towards it) preferred.
* Strong technical knowledge of liability claims, including Personal Injuries Assessment Board and litigation processes.
* A customer-focused approach with excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
* Strong understanding of underwriting principles, compliance (CPC), and motor legislation.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workload effectively.
* A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a structured approach to problem-solving.
