Senior Psychologist Role
We are seeking a Senior Psychologist to join our team at the Irish Prison Service in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate individualized care plans for prisoners referred to the psychology service.
* Develop and implement behavior monitoring procedures to ensure prisoner safety and well-being.
* Provide specialist contributions to multi-disciplinary care and management planning, ensuring recommendations align with individual formulations.
* Engage in and supervise evidence-based psychological interventions as outlined in care plans.
Work Environment
The Irish Prison Service is a closed high-security prison for adult males, with a diverse population of prisoners, including those linked to subversive crime.
Qualifications and Experience
* Eligibility for graduate membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* A postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology recognized by PSI.
* A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as a Psychologist.
D desirable Qualifications
* Experience working with a forensic population and in group settings.
* Experience providing consultation, education, guidance, and support to multidisciplinary colleagues.
* Further therapeutic or research qualifications.
