Introductory Payment: €10,000, payable in two instalments – the first after 6 months, and the second after 12 months.

Target Group: NMBI-registered nurses holding a valid PIN, including Senior Enhanced Nurses, CNM1s, and CNM2s, with a minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience—preferably in cardiothoracic settings. (Please note: Applications from medical ICU nurses will not be considered.)

Preferred Qualifications: A postgraduate qualification in Critical Care, or at least 5 years of current ICU experience.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

Provide direct patient care, ensuring clinical excellence at all times.

Collect and analyze patient histories; identify care needs and nursing diagnoses.

Monitor, document, and communicate patient signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological changes.

Initiate and implement individualized care plans for new admissions.

Deliver prescribed nursing interventions in alignment with the medical care plan.
-
Carry out admission, discharge, and transfer procedures; assist with patient care activities.

Administer medications and treatments safely, following physician instructions.

Promptly report changes in patient conditions to the appropriate medical staff.

Take full responsibility for the care of assigned patients, acting independently within the scope of practice.

Perform specialized clinical procedures and assist with aseptic techniques, infection control, and isolation protocols.

Ensure accurate, timely documentation in patient records, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

Evaluate and adjust care based on patient responses and desired outcomes.

Assess patient comprehension and adherence to healthcare instructions and document educational efforts.

Support internal departmental controls and participate in relevant duties as required.

Clinical Responsibilities

Adhere to the NMBI Professional Scope of Practice Framework (2000).

Conduct individualized patient assessments and implement tailored care plans.

Involve patients' families and significant others in care planning, where appropriate.

Ensure patients are treated in an optimal clinical setting, in line with hospital protocols.

Oversee and participate in patient nutrition and dietary care.

Enforce hospital visitation policies.
-
Delegate tasks based on the competency and knowledge of team members.
-
Maintain high standards of professional, clear, and timely documentation.

Contribute to quality improvement processes by identifying and evaluating clinical practices against best practice benchmarks.

Support hospital audits, accreditation initiatives, and health promotion activities.

Promptly identify and escalate concerns to the Nurse Manager.

Demonstrate proficiency and confidence in applying hospital policies and guidelines.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Effectively manage patient and family complaints.

Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication.

Act as Nurse Manager in their absence, when required.

Participate actively in ward-level and hospital-wide communication processes.
