The Business Analyst role involves supporting the delivery, development and implementation of ESB Networks Generation Connection processes.
The primary focus of the role is to manage, track and process generator connection offers for customers. Ongoing interaction with customers and key stakeholders including management and resolution of customer/stakeholder issues is also required on a daily basis. As a key member of the team bringing forward suggestions and supporting the development of IT systems, and development of the long-term enduring processes are also key responsibilities of this role. An interest and awareness of developments in the area of generator regulations and how they apply to ESB Networks will be important in order to engage with customers and support the successful implementation of generator connection and charging policy for such users of the Distribution System.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide input to support the delivery and development of the Generation Connection processes for ESB Networks.
2. Ensure customers are facilitated and the business objectives in relation to connection of renewables are delivered.
3. Support the delivery and embedding of the relevant enduring business processes to ensure generator applications are effectively managed by ESB Networks and our required deliverables under Ireland’s Climate Action Plan.
4. Work with and support the team dealing with processing and completion of generator connections under these key processes.
5. Interact with and manage customers and key stakeholders as required.
6. Proactively deal with all relevant generator queries within and outside own business area.
7. Work with the team to ensure the relevant pages on the ESB Networks website are accurate and consistent.
8. Participate on cross business team projects and working groups where required i.e. SAP developed, Online application development, charging policy development.
9. Support any regulated changes to connection agreements driven by the business, this includes liaising with both legal and CRU.
10. Implement generator connection policy and regulations as they apply to ESB Networks.
11. Develop and build relationships with Divisions, Areas and Planner Groups to achieve a best practice end to end Generator Connection process.
12. Develop reports for senior management on both the status of projects connecting to the distribution system and on the generator connection offer process.
Experience and Qualifications
1. A 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
2. Experience dealing with customers and stakeholders.
3. Proven ability to work with key relevant IT systems such as SAP, SharePoint, DocuSign is important for the role.
4. Excellent commercial knowledge.
5. Awareness of key technical elements of the electricity system and sufficient awareness of renewable generator technologies to be able to liaise with customer and technical support teams and resolve issues is important.
6. Strong proven communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
7. Ability to work independently to solve issues and develop processes.
8. Proven ability to work with a team and provide guidance and support to team members and the wider business.
9. Experience dealing with generator installation companies or industry body representatives would be beneficial.
10. Detailed knowledge of commercial connection offer, charging policies and processes.
11. Strong stakeholder management skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholder such as DECC, CRU and Industry Body Representatives.
12. Knowledge and ability to influence decision making in relation to connection offer, charging policies and processes.
Location
This position will be based in Leopardstown Road, Dublin 18.
