Virgin Media News is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Producer for our flagship current affairs programme, The Tonight Show. The Executive Producer will be responsible for setting a robust editorial agenda, leading the production team and outputting live programmes. Forward planning engaging topics with expert panelists representing both sides of the argument will be crucial, as will developing relationships with relevant stakeholders including outside agencies, political parties and panelists.
A keen understanding of the importance of diverse topic selection and the dynamics around panel discussions is a must. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in producing interesting, engaging and editorially-sound current affairs programming. They will have a strong journalistic background as well as sound editorial judgment and a strong understanding of politics and current affairs content. The producer will have good working knowledge of digital news platforms and digital production. This role will involve varied shifts outside of normal office hours.
