As part of their continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience, with hybrid/remote working options available.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of projects, supporting cost management, procurement, and contract administration. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate looking to develop a career in quantity surveying within the modular construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) to meet client deadlines.
* Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the management of projects from inception to completion.
* Engage in cost forecasting, financial reporting, and budget management to ensure projects remain financially viable.
* Prepare and process monthly interim valuations and monitor project cash flow.
* Assist with subcontractor procurement, including preparing tender packages, negotiating terms, and finalising contracts.
* Review, approve, and process subcontractor invoices and monitor payment schedules.
* Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts in collaboration with the Senior QS.
* Ensure purchase orders for materials, labour, and subcontractors are placed in line with project requirements.
* Assist in conducting post-project cost reviews, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Requirements
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
* Ideally suited to a recently qualified graduate looking to develop their career.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other relevant industry software.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues effectively.
* Self-motivated with a proactive and adaptable approach to work.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid or remote setting.
