An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Wedding and Events Manager to join our team. As Wedding and Events Manager, you will be responsible for maximising the sales potential and achieving the events sales targets of the hotel.
You will enjoy the coordinator element of the role by maintaining and updating all details in relation to our weddings, meeting couples to assist and coordinate their bookings and assist with the running of the weddings and events on the day. You will work with the Sales Team, Head Chef and Management Team to ensure the success of each event. Keep up to date with wedding trends and communicate effectively with the wedding couples, organisers and other key stakeholders to build confident and engaging relationships and converting show arounds to wedding bookings.
The Candidate: We are looking to recruit a highly experienced individual who has an ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have 2 years’ experience in an events or wedding coordinator role in the hospitality industry providing outstanding customer service and organising memorable events that meet our high-quality expectations.
Responsibilities include:
* Maximising and driving the wedding and events business of the hotel
* Building strong relationships with our wedding couples from enquiry through to contract and execution of event on the day
* Provide on-the-day support for weddings and events
* Update event plans, including timelines, layouts, and seating arrangements
* Ensure room is set up in accordance with customer specifications by supervising set-up staff and inspecting function rooms prior to events
* Ensure that all charges of weddings are accurate and followed through in line with departmental procedures and prior guest departure
* Follow-up with guests to determine satisfaction; measure results and establish strategies to improve the quality of the guest experience
* Reaching targets set by General Manager with regards to wedding bookings
* Audits Wedding and Events services and quality on a regular basis and develops and implements strategies to improve results
* Maximise revenue in relation to the average customer spend by up-selling Weddings and Events booked
* Coordinate and manage in-house Wedding Open Days/Wedding Events along with the sales team and attend relevant wedding events outside of the hotel
* Utilise leadership skills and motivation to maximise employee productivity and satisfaction
* Keep effective internal communication, including daily interaction with all staff to ensure optimum team work and productivity
* Prepare weekly and monthly reports outlining the Business on the Books for the current and following years.
* Work with the Sales Team to promote services including promotional ideas and social media posts
* Is proficient in all departmental procedures to be a resource when needed in other areas of the hotel
Set working days are Tuesday to Saturday.
Pay: Salary negotiable depending on relevant experience
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous Wedding Coordinator or Wedding and Event experience
* Proven record of meeting deadlines and targets
* Proven track record in sales performance with clear ability to convert business
* Excellent attention to detail
* Sales/Marketing, Business/Hospitality Qualification advantageous
* Engaging, outgoing personality, with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
* Excellent English, both oral and written is essential.
