Job Purpose
The Group Regulation Function plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of EirGrid's strategy. We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Regulatory Analyst to join the team and contribute to the development and implementation of our regulatory strategy and engagement plan.
This role is key to maintaining EirGrid's regulatory relationship with the Commission for Regulation of Utilities and the SEM Committee across a range of issues. You will influence the strategic direction of our regulatory and policy engagement as we mobilise to deliver on our ambitious strategy.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide clear, concise, and timely advice and support to business functions and management on regulatory matters related to renewable products and trading arrangements, both verbally and in writing as required.
* Lead Group Regulation on specific complex and high-risk regulatory matters involving trading and commercial activities and act as liaison with the Regulator on the same.
* Maintain knowledge of current developments in regulation affecting EirGrid's licensed activities, analyse their implications, and provide timely and authoritative advice and recommendations.
* Lead cross-functional teams, as necessary, to deliver regulatory plans.
* Ensure that primary compliance objectives are achieved on time and remain consistent with regulatory requirements.
* Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with stakeholders to support the delivery of regulatory requirements.
* Advocate for EirGrid's interests through effective communication and negotiation skills and work collaboratively with other departments to achieve this.
* Support the development of external consultants and contractors, as necessary, to assist in delivering regulatory requirements.
* Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time to support the delivery of EirGrid's regulatory strategy.
About You
* You will have a recognised qualification in a relevant field such as science, business, engineering, economics or a related discipline.
* You will have at least 4 years' experience in a similar role in an interdisciplinary environment.
* You will have a strong ability to develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally to support the delivery of regulatory requirements.
* You will have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate and impact others through developed communication and negotiation skills, and excellent personal organisation and administrative skills.
* You will have experience in drafting independent policy documents as part of a team with publication responsibility.
* You will have a proven analytical and critical thinking skill set, along with the ability to make sound judgements based on available information.
