Automation Engineer Role Overview
NeoDyne, a leading Irish and UK Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering company, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support one of our key client sites on a contract basis.
Job Responsibilities:
* Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to develop technical solutions for automated equipment.
* Collaborate with equipment suppliers to ensure seamless delivery, integration, and validation of systems.
* Maintain validated PLC automation systems in accordance with site change control procedures.
* Evaluate computer systems validation (CSV) requirements and maintain validated states.
* Provide operational support for Fill Finish and Biologics Technical Development activities.
* Work cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Quality Systems (QS), and Quality Assurance (QA) to validate software systems, ensuring compliance with lifecycle management and maintenance standards.
* Define automation requirements and implement solutions to support new product introductions and capacity expansions.
* Support disaster recovery and backup processes to minimize business disruption during system failures.
* Deliver core automation and technical support, including off-hours, remote, or onsite coverage, and provide training in basic troubleshooting for operations and engineering staff.
* Oversee and manage automation vendors during equipment troubleshooting, upgrades, and improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
* Proficiency with Siemens S7 PLCs and WinCC Flexible is highly desirable.
