We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our client's team on a 12-month contract.
The position is based in Dublin and is fully on-site.
There is no relocation package and no visa sponsorship available.
Job Description:
1. Design, build and rollout global DWDM networks;
2. Drive scaling designs to meet the demand of customers;
3. Create processes that help operate and build optical network;
4. Work closely with other Networking teams;
5. Evaluate new products and drive commercial tender process;
6. Ensure that the optical network adheres to the defined network standards;
7. Review and implement changes on the optical systems;
8. Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our DWDM network quality and reliability;
9. Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree;
2. Minimum of 7+ years industry experience;
3. Experience with optical planning, modelling tools and rollout of large DWDM networks;
4. Expertise in IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols;
5. In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms (Ciena, Infinera and Cisco);
6. In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms (Cisco and Juniper) including compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms;
7. In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols; specifically BGP and OSPF;
8. Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills;
9. Candidates should also have had significant past experience with, and expertise in many of the following protocols & technologies: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP.
