This Job Description details the day-to-day established activities of the General Maintenance Operative.
Reporting to: Operations / Facilities Manager and Maintenance Manager
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Undertake all duties related to the upkeep, cleaning, and general daily maintenance of Shannon Heritage sites, including grounds and buildings and their environs.
2. Start of day and end of day full cleaning procedure - attention to public areas, back of house, offices, doors, windows, floors, etc.
3. Public area & back of house remedial maintenance as required throughout the day.
4. Periodic deep clean requirements as directed by the Operations Manager.
5. Always maintain and clean grounds and car park, attention to litter, emptying bins, sweeping, etc.
6. Report any damage to the property and malfunctions as soon as they are noticed in the maintenance logbook.
7. Carry out simple general repairs as required.
8. Assist the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all Shannon Heritage sites are maintained to an agreed standard and deadlines.
9. Complete work schedules as directed by the manager.
10. Assess general maintenance requirements in all Shannon Heritage managed sites and carry out necessary works when appropriate.
11. Responsible for the upkeep and safekeeping of all maintenance equipment.
12. Assist qualified maintenance contractors and engineers who have come to repair equipment.
13. Clean exterior and internal windows, doors, floors, and glass.
14. Monitor and maintain Shannon Heritage systems as per the operating procedures and as directed by management.
15. Provide excellent customer service to all customers internal and external of the Shannon Heritage Sites.
16. Ensure compliance with all company procedures.
17. Follow all Health and Safety regulations as outlined in the Health & Safety Statement.
18. Assist with Health and Safety precautions for visitors.
19. Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by Management.
Requirements/Essential Skills and Attributes
1. Fluency in the English language.
2. Previous experience of general maintenance and cleaning.
3. Ability to deliver high level customer service.
4. Excellent customer focus & experience in a direct customer-facing environment.
5. Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues.
6. The proven ability to work under pressure and as part of a team.
7. A flexible, positive, and customer-oriented approach.
8. Trade qualification is not required.
