Director (Two Posts)
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is an independent regulatory body, established under the Environmental Protection Agency Act of 1992. Its purpose is to protect, improve and restore the environment through regulation, scientific knowledge and collaboration with others.
About the Role
A Director reports directly to the Director General and has a dual role as a Board Member and Executive responsible for leading the work of one of the EPA's Offices.
There are two upcoming vacancies:
* Director of the Office of Communications and Corporate Services
* Director of the Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring
Office of Communication and Corporate Services (OCCS)
The OCCS is responsible for supporting the EPA's 550 staff across various functions, including human resource management, learning and development, health and safety, facilities management, financial management, corporate governance, communications and information technology.
Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring (ORM)
The ORM has a wide range of functions across areas such as air, water, radiation, noise, chemicals, nuclear safety and emergency preparedness, Strategic Environmental Assessment and State of Environment Reporting.
It also serves as the environmental regulator for Uisce Éireann, alongside other responsibilities related to water services oversight and enforcement.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for these positions, candidates must possess:
* An appropriate qualification (minimum NFQ Level 8) in Science, Engineering or another relevant discipline.
* Significant knowledge and experience in relation to environmental and/or radiological protection matters.
* A minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience, including at least 5 years of senior management experience with a proven track record of significant achievement as a leader and manager in a medium or large-sized organisation.
