We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a Pharmaceutical organization based in Athlone. This is an excellent position for anyone who is looking to join a leading multinational who are one of the best at what they do.
Duties
1. Oversee the operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, air handling units (AHUs), compressed air, steam systems, cooling towers, and water treatment systems.
2. Ensure continuous and efficient operation of black utilities to support manufacturing and facility needs.
3. Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for utility-related issues.
4. Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize system reliability and efficiency.
5. Ensure all black utilities comply with local environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
6. Maintain accurate documentation, SOPs, and work permits for utility operations.
7. Support audits and inspections related to utility systems and facility compliance.
8. Work with EHS teams to ensure sustainable energy usage and waste management practices.
9. Identify and implement efficiency improvements to reduce energy consumption and operational costs.
10. Optimize system performance through data analysis, monitoring, and process improvements.
11. Support facility expansion, equipment upgrades, and commissioning projects related to black utilities.
12. Work closely with GMP utilities (white utilities), production, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless facility operations.
13. Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for system maintenance, upgrades, and compliance testing.
Education & Experience
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience in black utilities engineering, facility maintenance, or industrial utilities within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environment.
3. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of boilers, chillers, steam systems, HVAC, compressed air, and water treatment.
4. Understanding of BMS (Building Management Systems), CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and energy management principles.
