Hazards House Group offers comprehensive services to 900 people in six distinct units throughout the Leinster region. These services include accommodation and person-centred support for individuals and families seeking international protection. We operate in accordance with the National Standards for International Protection Accommodation and conduct regular inspections by HIQA and IPAS to ensure compliance with our contracts.
Head of Compliance and Risk Manager
This is a senior management position within the newly established Audit, Risk, and Compliance Department at Hazards House Group. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
The ideal candidate must prioritise the care and support of individual residents while ensuring that their unique health and social care needs are addressed. A person-centred approach, flexibility, and enthusiasm are essential for success in this role.
Candidates should be motivated, have the ability to inspire and educate others, and lead the management team in ensuring compliance with IPAS and HIQA regulations. Key responsibilities include:
* Implementing proactive incident, accident, complaints, and risk management across the Hazards House Group according to National Standards and national guidance.
* Ensuring policies related to Risk Management, Complaints Management, Child Protection, Adult Safeguarding, and Incident Management are aligned with Irish Law, National Policy, and National Standards.
* Supporting and training services on these policies, particularly in relation to person-centred risk scenarios, risk registers, incident management, and PEEPs.
* Liaising with senior management to address corporate risk and risk management.
* Developing mitigation plans for identified risks, both short-term and long-term.
* Establishing internal systems and processes for incident management, including communication and escalation procedures.
* Monitoring risk registers and incident management systems.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for tracking the implementation of major reports and investigations, supporting management in understanding National Standards, and preparing centres for HIQA inspections. Additionally, they will set KPIs with the Governance Board, conduct internal audits, and produce compliance reports under IPAS and HIQA guidelines.
Key qualifications and experience required for this role include:
* Promoting humanity as a core value in interactions with residents.
* Being able to take on the role of Mandated Person and DPL in terms of Child Protection and Vulnerable Adults.
* A formal qualification in Social Care or Healthcare Management or other relevant qualification at level 8 or above on the QQI framework.
* A minimum of 5 years of management experience in Direct Provision, Social Care, Health Care, or equivalent experience.
* A minimum of 1 year working with people from other nations in crisis situations or seeking international protection.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of the National Standards for Direct Provision Accommodation.
Salary scale: €€95,000 - €120,000 per annum.
