Summary
OnSemi is seeking a Senior MTS Analog design Engineer, NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, Power Management, to join our growing team in Limerick, Ireland. This group is responsible for development of Power management products including Multiphase controllers, smart power FETs and DC-DC converters for consumer, industrial and automotive applications.
In this role, you will focus on the following
1. Mentor a diverse team of experienced and junior Analog IC design engineers
2. Lead an Analog IC design team with product ownership and responsibility from definition to release to manufacturing
3. Make assignments for team members, providing design guidance as needed, developing schedules and monitoring progress throughout the project
4. Evaluate intermediate and final results of projects during the design phase and during silicon evaluation, to ensure accomplishment of technical objectives.
5. Work with and provide guidance to physical designers and monitors the progress of IC layout
6. Work with systems engineers, application engineers and marketing to prepare product briefs, datasheets, application notes and assisting in the definition of the product to meet customer needs as well as contributing to roadmap formulation and new concept creation
7. Define IP test plan and execution working along with product and test engineer.
8. Define and manage IP quality standard for both industrial and automotive applications
9. Collaborate with validation, product engineering and test engineering teams to enable successful transfer to production
10. Interface and lead discussions with the customer and/or ONsemi field sales/field applications teams to understand customer designs, problems and support as required
11. Actively participate in hiring, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure efficient operation of the organization and growth of the individuals into leader
12. Lead, motivate, provide training, and create career growth opportunities for the team
13. Collaborate with overseas design and systems teams on technical aspects, IP development, sharing of know-how
14. Provide technical leadership in driving architecture design and circuit design based on high-level specifications
15. Own technical outcome of design, verification, implementation, and execution of Power Management ICs with complexities that can span from simple regulators to complex designs, control loops, and digital interfaces

17. Understand project goals, create a realistic schedule and resource plan, track execution schedule to plan, monitor progress, and provide full clarity to the team on the goals and objectives
Minimum Requirements
18. BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 18 years of experience, or MS + 16 years of experience
19. Solid track record of releasing complex ICs/IPs to market
20. Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies
21. Goal and outcome-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects within the team
22. Ability to attract and retain key engineering talent
23. Experience in simplifying complex problems into smaller problems and solving them as a team
24. Ability to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and concerns to all levels of management
25. Solid understanding of various Power Converters such as Buck, Boost, LDOs, and relevant Analog building blocks like current sense, ADC, DAC etc.
26. Solid understanding of control loop theories, topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current Mode, Voltage Mode control loops
27. Solid understanding of DC-DC Multiphase controllers, smart power FET and DC-DC converters
28. Strong Analog IC design skills, debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and/or bench testing.
29. Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performance
30. understanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) Design, Layout, and Robustness
31. Proficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out
32. Ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders critical to success, both internally and externally
