Purpose of the Role
The role involves providing clinical education, support and supervision for undergraduate nursing students while on practice placement.
The Clinical Placement Coordinator (CPC) also supports Staff nurses/preceptors and CNMs in their clinical teaching and assessment roles on ward areas where students are on clinical placement.
There is also a nursing practice and quality remit to the post.

Essential Criteria
* Be registered on the Childrens Nursing Division of the Register kept by NMBI or be entitled to be so registered.
* Hold a degree in nursing, be currently undertaking, or give a commitment to undertake same.
* Have a minimum of three years post registration experience to include working with students in clinical areas.
* Have completed a Preceptorship course or equivalent
* Demonstrate a good knowledge of the health service with particular reference to professional development issues, nurse education and practice development.
