The Role:
The Head of Technology is a key executive role responsible for driving digital transformation, developing and implementing the organization's technology strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of critical projects that enable our long-term business objectives. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Head of Technology will provide strategic direction to drive innovation, manage the development of advanced technologies, and ensure the company's technology infrastructure is reliable, secure, efficient, and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technology Leadership
o Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing technology and project management team.
o Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
o Aware of the latest tech advancements to provide strategic insights and recommendations for maintaining our technological edge.
* Technology Strategy
o Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with Avolon's overall business objectives.
o Identify and evaluate the latest technologies, assessing their potential for business impact.
o Collaborate closely with senior leadership and business stakeholders to understand their technology needs and drive technology-enabled business initiatives.
o Chair the Avolon Information Technology Advisory Group.
* Technology Infrastructure and Operations
o Oversee the design and implementation of a robust technical enterprise architecture that aligns with business requirements, security standards, and industry best practices.
o Establish and maintain efficient and reliable technology operations, including systems infrastructure, product development and support, network, data management, and security protocols for high performance and data integrity.
o Accelerate innovation initiatives to enhance our products, services, and processes for optimum efficiency.
o Build and maintain relationships with vendors and partners, assessing and selecting the most appropriate solutions and services.
* Project Management Office
o Develop and implement a comprehensive PMO strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
o Oversee the establishment and maintenance of effective project and portfolio management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
o Provide strategic guidance and support to project teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
* Security, Compliance, and Governance
o Prioritize cybersecurity, data privacy, and protection, implementing robust security measures to protect company data, systems, and infrastructure from threats.
o Monitor and address risks associated with system vulnerabilities, scalability, and technological obsolescence.
o Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and mitigate risks of data breaches or cyberattacks.
o Establish policies and best practices to manage technology risks, including disaster recovery, business continuity, and incident response plans.
o Manage the technology budget - optimizing resource allocation and value.

Essential Skills and Experience:
* Exceptional experience leading software development, systems architecture, IT operations, and digital transformation initiatives.
* Proven track record of leading large-scale projects including designing and launching new technologies and processes, implementing process improvements, and ensuring the timely and successful achievement of project objectives.
* Expertise in driving innovation and overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of technology products/platforms from concept to launch.
* Significant experience establishing and enforcing IT governance frameworks to ensure alignment between technology strategy and business priorities.
* Skilled in establishing frameworks to mitigate risks associated with security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
* Experience managing risks related to cyber threats, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
* Demonstrated success in designing and implementing robust cybersecurity strategies to safeguard sensitive data and protect organizational assets.
* Demonstrated ability to develop business continuity and disaster recovery strategies with a focus on resilience against cyberattacks and system failures.
* Experience in managing technology budgets, optimizing costs, and allocating resources effectively.
* Ability to manage diverse vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and secure technology solutions.
* Self-starter and leads change effectively, demonstrating a track record of managing multiple projects and delivering on key milestones in a dynamic environment.
* Team leader with proven capability of empowering others, instilling accountability, and driving high performance by creating an environment where everyone contributes to shared goals, fosters collaboration and professional development.
