Job Description
The Support Pharmacist will assist the Managing Pharmacist in the operation of the dispensary in busy and challenging environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain the highest ethical standards and deliver excellent customer care by adhering to operating procedures within the pharmacy.
* Observe statutory regulations relating to the supply of medicinal products as per the Pharmacy Act 2007.
* Ensure maintenance of appropriate records and hygiene within the pharmacy as per the Pharmacy Act 2008.
* Brief staff on over-the-counter medicines and ensure they are aware of counter-prescribing procedures and limitations.
* Implement Department of Health Schemes, such as DPS, LTI, GMS, and reconcile payments according to Company Procedures.
* Maintain stock levels, store and monitor dated products, and supervise the pharmacy during the absence of the Pharmacist.
* Ensure the Pharmacy is kept clean and tidy, and promptly report Health and Safety issues to the Pharmacy Manager.
* Deliver the highest standards of care and service, and understand the retail operation of the Pharmacy.
* Participate in training and development programmes provided by the pharmacy.
* Stay up-to-date with registration and PSI practice guidance changes.
Leadership & Teamwork
* Support other stakeholders within the pharmacy and company to achieve company goals.
* Work proactively and independently, taking initiative when needed.
* Build positive relationships with others in the pharmacy to create a positive working environment.
* Participate in staff training and implementation of role functions.
* Assist the managing pharmacist in health promotion and pharmaceutical care programmes.
