Production Operations Manager
About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Production Operations Manager to drive innovation, quality, and efficiency in our Bakery, Mill, and Warehouse departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Motivate and lead the Production teams in a Continuous Improvement environment.
* Deliver the weekly production plan in collaboration with all departments to meet customer needs.
* Manage resources and equipment effectively to achieve departmental KPIs and objectives.
* Monitor machine performance and implement improvements.
* Evaluate equipment deficiencies and limitations, working with Maintenance to upgrade as needed.
* Ensure high standards of product quality through collaboration with the Quality Department.
* Uphold and enhance health and safety protocols to meet regulatory requirements.
* Provide comprehensive reports on operational performance to senior management.
People Management
* Bull building relationships to enhance team capability.
* Encourage and develop others to contribute to their maximum potential.
* Promote a culture of empowerment.
* Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, and customers for cohesive operations.
Strategy/Innovation
* Drive C.I. initiatives in areas of responsibility.
* Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company objectives.
* Sourcing and trialling alternative materials with Procurement to reduce costs.
* Identifying and trialling equipment upgrades with Maintenance to improve performance and reduce labor costs.
* Support trials for New Product Introduction.
Requirements
* Third-level qualification in a related field is essential.
* Relevant certifications in operations management, lean manufacturing, or quality management are desirable.
* 10+ years in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on Lean/Continuous Improvement.
* Minimum 7 years' experience in an operational leadership role, preferably in the food production or FMCG industry.
* Proven track record of managing a multi-disciplinary team.
* Familiarity with quality standards and health & safety regulations pertinent to the food industry.
* Capable of planning, executing, and achieving targeted outputs.
* Proficient in budget management and financial analysis.
* Knowledge of modern manufacturing technologies.
Salary:
$120,000 - $180,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)
