Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme
We are pleased to offer positions on the Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme at Atlantic Technological University Sligo or Galway and Munster Technology University Cork.
This dynamic alternative route into civil engineering combines practical on-the-job learning with academic development. Our apprenticeship provides an "earn and learn" model to build skills and knowledge.
What You'll Do
* Play an active role in construction site management
* Gain hands-on experience with activities such as dimensional control, understanding project engineering requirements, and reading and interpreting site documents
* Support project engineers and construction managers in developing construction strategies and schedules
* Perform quality control checks and undertake site inspections
As Your Skills Progress
* Collaborate with engineers and managers to create construction strategies and work sequences
* Learn to conduct concept design and site inspections for temporary works
* Assist with reviewing and analysing civil and structural tenders
* Help develop design and remedial solutions
* Prepare risk assessments and method statements
* Gain knowledge in as-built surveys and monitoring survey operations
Programme Qualification
Upon completion, you'll receive either a QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering or a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, depending on the duration of your apprenticeship.
Location and Travel Requirements
This apprenticeship will involve placements across Ireland. Many of our sites are in remote locations, so a willingness to travel is essential, and a full clean driving license is required.

* Minimum qualification: Pass in Maths at Level 5 (or equivalent)
* No prior experience is needed – just a readiness to learn, a positive mindset, and a can-do attitude
