Dornan is recruiting for a Mechanical Pipework Supervisor to be based on one of our new pharmaceutical projects in Cork. This is a 6 month fixed term contract position.
Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all project materials and equipment, ensuring all work will be completed on time, and in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of various subcontractors, foremen, and chargehands.
* Establish and adjust work timelines to meet the construction schedule for the project.
* Take responsibility for health and safety on site and lead by example.
* Organize workers, plant, machinery, and materials.
* Supervise construction activities.
* Coordinate with all other crafts working on a job site to ensure smooth transitions.
* Identify materials and equipment that may be required.
* Ensure construction is carried out accurately, following plans and specifications.
* Conduct quality control inspections on project sites.
* Ensure contractor activities are properly coordinated.
* Ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
* Analyze and quickly resolve any work problems that may arise, ensuring all deficiencies on any given project are corrected in a timely manner.
* Train employees and apprentices to provide relevant work experience.
* Maintain detailed and accurate site reports.
* Communicate project progress to key stakeholders, clients, architects, and engineers.
* Perform all other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager.
Requirements:
Pipework experience is required.
Pharmaceutical experience is preferred, but candidates with industrial or commercial experience may be considered.
The ideal candidate is very process-driven.
A trade background with experience leading teams of 10-20 trades personnel is essential.
