Senior Placement Consultant at Ayrton Group
Ayrton Group are seeking a Site Safety Manager to join our client, a multinational energy and services company, on an industrial construction project in the North Cork region.
This is a 15-week contract position, commencing in mid-June, with the potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of all site construction works from site set-up through to commissioning and handover.
* Responsible for ensuring all work is undertaken in a safe and timely manner in accordance with Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, all relevant contractual timescales and specifications.
* Ensure site works are undertaken as per the design and specification.
* Utilise technical knowledge to identify and resolve site technical issues as they arrive.
* Monitor the installation of works to ensure a high level of quality is being maintained.
* Undertake snagging as works progress and ensure these are effectively closed out.
* Ensure commissioning, witnessing and handover plans are in place, adhered to and documented.
* Responsible for managing the site in-line with company HSES policies and procedures.
* Act as main point of contact on site for the customer, contractors, and other stakeholders.
* Develop a safety first culture on site with CBS staff, client, and sub-contractors.
* Ensure proactive Health and Safety approach where risks are identified, resolved and reported.
* Implementation of the Construction Phase Safety Plan.
* Installation delivery and coordination of works on site with both internal and external (contractors) parties to ensure the project is delivered safe and productive manner.
* Carry out site inspections, site inductions, toolbox talks.
* Ensure RAMS reviews and adherence, issue and administer Permit to Works.
* Carry out and record routine site and workplace inspections along with providing a weekly (or as required) project status report which will capture site HSES, condition and progress on site.
* Responsible for maintaining a safe, tidy and compliant site.
* Act as the primary point of contact on-site to establish a strong working relationship with the customer to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. Ensure any feedback or issues from the customer is captured, assessed and resolved, as required.
* Have the courage to stop works if the workplace, work package or a person is operating and working unsafely. If there are persistent offenders that are carrying out unsafe acts on site, the Site Manager has the right to remove the individuals providing sufficient notice has been provided and in line with company HSES policy.
* Continue to look at maintaining and improving project safety standards that could be adopted on site and would ultimately provide a safer working environment leading to reduced incidents and accidents.

* Leverage expertise within the business through fostering an information sharing culture which openly and proactively shares best practise and safe working practises within the company.

* Participate in training and lessons learned programmes as required.

Key Requirements:
* Safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH is desirable.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in a management position is preferred.
* Additional certifications such as Safe Pass, Working at Heights, Harness Training, First Aid Training is required.
* Experience managing HSE in an engineering and construction environment.
* Technical experience in industrial Mechanical & Electrical installations. Good understanding of the technology (Heat Pump Equipment) being installed to ensure that it is safely and correctly installed.
* Experience in the construction of small to large complex energy projects incorporating ammonia and heavy crane lifts.
* Proven track record of successfully delivering small to large projects for a variety of sectors.
* Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
* Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
