Role Summary
To provide best-in-class engineering design and project management services to the operating business through innovative, cost-effective solutions carried out in a safe and consistent manner throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure engineering projects are delivered on budget and in compliance with company Health & Safety Policies, Technical Standards, and Procurement Guidance.
* Support the lime operations team with technical and design leadership during plant improvement, safety compliance, and process optimization projects.
* Represent the engineering management function, providing input to Location Managers - Carlow & Ennis, Operational Maintenance Team, Lime Safety - Health & Safety Co-Ordinator, Electrical Control Engineers - External Site Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Teams.
* Develop working relations with new potential installation companies, equipment suppliers, and specialist resourcing.
* Engage in the departments tracking of short- and medium-term resource requirements for electrical/Mechanical projects.
Outputs (Results Required):
* To design, scope, and implement projects.
* Take ownership and responsibility of the budget and phasing priorities for individual capital projects.
* Ensure all projects are designed to achieve the lowest cost of ownership possible.
* Identify opportunities for cost saving on projects and develop solutions.
* Provide direction and supervision for external contractors.
* Drive a zero-harm culture, reduction in AIFR.
* Support mental health awareness within the department.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills/Knowledge:
* Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering discipline preferred (Trade level considered, subject to experience).
* IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate advantageous.
* Minimum of 2 years mechanical biased experience in an industrial environment, particularly in roles covering project engineering, plant safety, and process optimisation works.
* Good understanding of Irish standards and statutory legislation.
