Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
We are seeking a highly skilled Health & Safety Officer to join our client, an award-winning Main Building Contractor based in Cork.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and practices aligned with regulatory requirements and company standards.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulations and best practices.
* Support project teams in preparing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
* Monitor and report on the effectiveness of EHS policies, suggesting improvements where necessary.
* Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
* Deliver EHS training and toolbox talks to site personnel, ensuring high awareness and competency levels.
* Maintain accurate records of EHS activities, including training records, inspection reports, and incident logs.
* Promote a positive EHS culture across projects, encouraging proactive safety behavior.
Requirements:
* Degree or diploma in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field.
* Minimum 2+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably within the construction industry in Ireland.
* Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and ability to evaluate current and emerging trends in health and safety management.
