Accounts Assistant FTC – Wicklow / Hybrid
We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our client’s dynamic finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting various financial operations, including the preparation and analysis of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and maintaining financial systems. The successful candidate will also handle bank administration and ensure the integrity of the fixed asset register.
Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager, this is a 14 month fixed term contract.
Your Role
1. Prepare month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
2. Monitor and calculate accruals and prepaid expenses.
3. Handle monthly expense reports and track financial transactions.
4. Assist in the creation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis for senior management.
5. Compile audit files for both interim and annual audits.
6. Address auditor queries in a timely manner.
7. Participate in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
8. Collaborate with various business units to support their financial planning needs.
9. Maintain and manage the accounting system.
10. Oversee the Fixed Asset Register.
11. Lead initiatives aimed at improving and simplifying finance processes.
12. Support various tasks and projects within the finance division as required.
13. Build strong relationships with colleagues, ensuring effective teamwork and communication.
Your Skills
14. A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an accounting technician or accounts assistant role within a medium to large organisation.
15. Proficient in financial and analytical tasks, with experience in preparing monthly accounts.
16. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
17. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial accounting systems.
