Career Opportunities: Country Manager
We are seeking an experienced manager to lead our Dublin office to the next level. Your primary objective would be to inspire and manage a small team, ensuring the achievement of financial objectives.
Job Description:
The role involves managing a small freight forwarding office with huge potential for expansion and development. You will have a proactive task of increasing revenue generation through current customers as well as business development in the wider market.
Main Responsibilities:
* Operations:
o Overview of all branch operations, ensuring compliance with the company's operating procedures.
o Effective and efficient use of systems including CargoWise, Adaptive, Workday, PowerBI etc.
o Monitoring KPIs such as Task Adoption, Margin Management, Billing Velocity.
o Compliance of all country regulations by staying up-to-date on freight forwarding and customs laws.
o Focusing and targeting branch metrics and KPI deliverables with operations and commercial teams.
o Engaging with the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with industry-leading standards such as AEO and ISO.
o Handling escalations as necessary.
* Sales, Marketing, and Business Development:
o Expanding presence and ensuring OIA Global is a key forwarder within the market.
o Awareness of potential customers and opportunities to develop the business.
o Maintaining and developing existing business relationships.
o Working with the Sales team to develop new business through communication with potential clients.
o Effective negotiation on price to maximize profitability.
o Awareness of forwarding and logistics markets, including potential new investments, key customers, and competition.
o Leveraging OIA's networking platforms to create new opportunities.
o Overview of quote conversions and competitiveness for quotations.
* Customer Service:
o Good relationships between customers, colleagues, and third parties for operational excellence and adherence to deadlines.
o Maintaining regular reviews with customers to gather feedback on customer service and develop opportunities for growth.
o Proactive problem-solving.
o Team activities reflecting high levels of customer service.
o Culture of excellence in team behavior towards customers.
o Preparing and submitting written management reports for the executive group and chairing the monthly dashboard call for your country.
o Visibility and positive contribution to global and regional initiatives and activities.
o Maintaining high standards of credibility and representation for the country in supporting active participation, contribution, and execution of the company's business strategy.
o Working with the Regional Manager to develop and implement the annual business plan and growth strategies.
Requirements:
* To be proactive when faced with problems.
* Previous experience working in a management capacity within freight forwarding.
* Demonstrable ability to build effective relationships internally and externally.
* Ability to manage and motivate staff effectively while ensuring operational excellence and outstanding service delivery at all times.
* Resolution-focused to streamline and improve processes and methodologies.
* Excellent leadership qualities and strong work ethic.
* Fluency in both written and spoken English and the local language.
