Field Service Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team in North Tipperary, close to Limerick City. As a key member of our technical services team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and becoming an SME with our current products/technology.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of our company's systems and equipment associated with our product offering.
* Responsible for the installation and commissioning of new equipment, including the execution and documentation of IQ, OQ, PQ (Installation, Operation and Performance Qualification) for systems supported by the business.
* Train and support customer operators & technical personnel on our company's systems.
* Service and maintain systems installed at customer sites.
* Repair and test electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment associated with our product offering.
* Assist in the design and development of electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment associated with our continuous improvement program.
* Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings and risk assessments (e.g. FMEA) in order to develop validation strategies.
* Actively participate in areas such as 6S, lean principles, GMP/GDP within the team.
* Support value engineering projects by developing and implementing cost reduction initiatives.
* Work closely with other departments and external service providers to maintain and enhance equipment performance to business targets are met.
* Update equipment operating/maintenance procedures in line with GDP.
* Provide regular updates on assigned tasks/projects feeding into the company tier SQIDP reporting structure.
* Ensure all company equipment is maintained and in good working order at all times throughout its lifecycle.
* Ensure full compliance with all Safety, Health and Environmental guidelines.
* Perform other related tasks as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
* A trade qualification is essential with a level 7 in Engineering being a distinct advantage.
* 3-5 years of Electrical/Mechanical machine build/support experience.
* Previous installation and qualification of machinery and equipment in customer sites.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
* Basic Siemens PLC coding experience is an advantage.
* Experience in technical writing, including but not limited to validation protocols and associated test plans.
* Interpret P&IDs, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, technical drawings and specifications.
* A continuous improvement mind-set.
* Self-motivated, capable of working on own initiative and can work to tight deadlines.
* A strong customer service focus with ability to interact confidently and professionally with system end users/customers.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* PC literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word & MS Project.
* A full clean driving licence.
* In Ireland, you must hold a valid work permit to be eligible for this role.
Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience.
