Electrical TechnicianBased at The Irish Times Print Facility, CitywestContract: 3-Year Fixed TermReports to: Engineering ManagerThe Irish Times, Ireland's leading quality newspaper and digital media platform, is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic Engineering Team at our state-of-the-art Print Facility in Citywest.This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high-performance, fast-paced production environment where The Irish Times and other major publications are printed.Key Responsibilities:We are looking for a motivated and experienced technician with a strong track record in: Electronic engineering Control systems and network technology Supporting high-volume, time-critical, production operations All work carried out in accordance with site H&S policies Preventive and reactive electrical maintenance on production and facilities equipment Liaise with subcontractors during planned service maintenanceYou will be part of a skilled and collaborative team, responsible for the day-to-day technical support of critical production systems, including: Printing press and mailroom dispatch systems Laser imaging and vision systems PLC and Motor Control systems InterBus / ProfiBus control systems PC support and networking Closed-loop speed control systems Cloud-based production workflowCandidate Requirements: Diploma or degree in Electronics, or Fully qualified Electrician with experience in electronics and IT Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong initiative and problem-solving skills Previous experience in industrial control systems is an advantage Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and manufacturer manuals Willingness to work variable shifts, including evening and night shifts and weekendsWhat We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package Company Health Insurance Scheme Company Pension Contribution Free Irish Times Premium Digital Subscription Generous annual leave entitlement Income Continuance Cover Paid Sick Leave Bike to Work Scheme Sponsored Gym MembershipAt The Irish Times, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
