Job Description:

Your Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct and document job hazard assessments for production, maintenance & contractor activities in the plant
2. Perform contractor safety audits; maintain & enhance Contractor Safety Program
3. Conduct monthly inspections (eyewash, spill kits, first aid rooms)
4. Update Physical Demands Descriptions (PDDs)
5. Coordinate / deliver health & safety training, safety talks, EHS elearning, etc.
6. Develop safety talk eLearning modules
7. Maintain and enhance EHS management system documentation
8. Maintain the SDS inventory on Schaeffler‘s electronic database and in SDS binders; Generate GHS labels as required
9. Implement EHS Visual Management improvements in the plant
10. Assist with other EHS projects, reporting & administrative tasks as required
Your Qualifications
1. Degree/Diploma (or working towards) in Occupational Health & Safety, Kinesiology or related discipline
2. Available for a 4 month co-op or internship from September to December 2024
3. Previous EHS experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
4. Must have knowledge of health and safety laws and regulations; Sound knowledge of hazardous waste disposal and waste reduction practices is beneficial
5. Comfortable developing EHS materials as well as presenting individually or to a group
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform effectively in fast-paced environment is essential
7. Strong analytical and organizational skills
8. Solid training and coaching skills along with strong customer service orientation.
9. Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
10. Comfortable navigating online platforms and utilizing Microsoft Office applications
11. Ability to stand and walk continuously
