Role:
The Client is seeking the services of a Senior Network Architect with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design and rollout of a ‘Zero Trust’ network model in the Department. They will work with the Strategic Infrastructure and Architecture team to develop a High-Level Network Design, and a roadmap for the transition to a ‘Zero Trust’ model. The HLD will include micro-segmentation, VxLAN, and other cutting-edge technologies in a comprehensive approach to securing the Clients digital infrastructure. The successful candidate is expected to have significant experience in this area and must have previous design experience in zero trust networks for a similarly sized organisation.
Experience Level Required:
1. It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed has the equivalent of Senior i.e. >8 years’ experience. No other experience levels will be accepted.
2. Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE-ENT or equivalent.
3. It is a mandatory requirement that the Resource proposed has Full Irish Driving Licence.
Key Deliverables:
1. Analyse current LAN/WAN infrastructure and develop a high-level design (HLD) for a ‘Zero Trust’ network deployment across Client Department office locations.
2. Document low-level requirements, specifications and produce a roadmap for the transition to the proposed network model.
3. Design a spine-leaf network architecture for the Client Department’s on-premises compute-storage and HCI environments.
4. Redesign access switching ACL’s and VLAN’s with design considerations based on a Blended working environment and a cost-efficient operating model.
5. Lead the planning, testing, and deployment phases of LAN/WAN infrastructure upgrades.
6. Collaborate with the Client Department security team on the roll out of 802.1x authentication and ensure that the network architecture complies with cybersecurity frameworks.
7. Participate in weekly CAB meetings and provide progress reports to management and other stakeholders when required.
8. Contribute to the development and promotion of technical standards and templates, such as architecture assessment documents, and assist in prioritising work requests in conjunction with project managers and business units.
9. Implementation of energy-efficient technologies into the network design to support green networking.
10. Contribute to the Departments Enterprise Architecture function.
11. Provide subject matter expertise on LAN, WAN, VOIP, Hybrid DC’s, and cloud integration strategies.

3. Expertise in network virtualisation technologies, specifically VXLAN.

5. Strong understanding of ‘Zero Trust’ security principles and micro segmentation strategies.
6. Experience with network segmentation in cloud and hybrid environments.
7. Ability to create detailed network design documentation and diagrams.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
9. Strong leadership qualities and experience managing cross-functional teams.
10. Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Skills Desired:
1. Network security concepts and technologies.
