An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Executive to develop and execute a sales strategy for medical device testing, consultancy, and packaging services.
This role will focus on identifying and winning business within the Irish market while maintaining and growing existing client relationships.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive business development efforts, develop key accounts, and contribute to the broader strategic planning of the organization.
This role requires a highly motivated individual with proven experience in sales or business development within the medical device sector.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of laboratory testing services, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited to the Following: Business Development & Sales Strategy: Identify and win new business opportunities for medical device testing and consultancy services.
Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve business objectives within the assigned market.
Assist in strategic business planning alongside the Medical Device Sales and Business Director.
Generate and qualify new leads, ensuring a strong pipeline for future growth.
Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships through consultative sales and account management.
Account Management & Client Engagement: Conduct thorough client analysis to assess potential business needs and outsourcing strategies.
Develop short, medium, and long-term account strategies to maximize service opportunities.
Work collaboratively with key account managers and business development teams across multiple sites.
Oversee the negotiation and management of contracts, including Confidentiality Agreements, Master Services Agreements, and pricing agreements.
Resolve commercial issues and negotiate contract terms with senior management support.
Market Development & Industry Engagement: Drive commercial awareness and marketing initiatives for medical device testing services.
Provide market insights to senior management, highlighting opportunities for service expansion.
Attend and support marketing activities, including international conferences, trade shows, and workshops.
Conduct client site visits for relationship management and business development.
Leverage CRM software to track sales activities, customer engagements, and contractual agreements.
Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure a thorough understanding of regulated preclinical services and industry standards (e.g., ISO, GLP).
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality and service offerings.
Provide feedback on market trends to help shape the organization's testing and consultancy capabilities.
Education & Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or related fields).
Additional finance or business training is desirable.
Experience & Skills: Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales or business development within medical device testing services.
Established network within the medical device, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.
Strong understanding of regulations, including ISO standards and GLP.
Knowledge of the product commercialization, manufacturing, and supply chain process for medical devices.
Experience in contract negotiations and account development planning.
Ability to navigate matrix organizations and collaborate across multiple functions and sites.

Additional Terms & Conditions: Work Location & Travel Requirements: The role will primarily be home-based, contingent on achieving client visit targets and revenue goals.
Regular attendance at the Ireland site may be required for internal meetings and client interactions.
The role requires extensive travel across the assigned territory, a number of specified client visits per month to occur and be recorded in the CRM.
Travel beyond the assigned region may be necessary depending on business needs.
