Responsible To:Operations Director (Parent Company - Louvolite) Date Reviewed:November 2024 Main Purpose of the Role: To manage the day to day and strategic operations for SLX Blinds. Main Responsibilities and Duties: Oversee the day to day operations of the company, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation. Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team across various departments, including warehouse, sales, customer service, and finance. Implement and monitor operational processes to improve productivity, cost-efficiency, and overall performance. Supervise inventory management, ensuring stock levels are optimised and meet production demands. Ensure efficient warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of products. Manage stock control processes to minimise waste, prevent shortages, and reduce costs. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers, providing exceptional service and fostering repeat business. Oversee the sales team and collaborate on strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets. Address customer complaints or issues promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Analyse market trends and customer needs to guide sales strategies and product offerings. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure profitability and cost control. Work closely with the finance team to monitor cash flow, reduce overheads, and improve financial performance. Ensure financial targets are met and take corrective actions as necessary to improve financial outcomes. Ensure that the company adheres to all regulatory and health & safety requirements in the warehouse, manufacturing, and office environments. Implement and monitor policies to create a safe and productive workplace for all employees. Contribute to the development and execution of the companys long-term business strategies. Analyse industry trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities for growth and operational improvement. Provide regular reports to the Operations Director on performance across all departments. Ensure clear, open communication between departments to promote collaboration and achieve company goals. Essential Criteria: Experience in a senior operational management role, ideally within a manufacturing, distribution, or retail environment. Demonstrated expertise in warehouse management, stock control, customer service, sales, and financial oversight. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. Proficient in financial management, budgeting, and cost control. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. Familiarity with warehouse management software and ERP systems. Good understanding of health and safety standards and compliance regulations in the manufacturing industry. Desirable Criteria: Experience in the window blinds industry or related sectors (e.g. home furnishings, manufacturing). A degree in Business Management, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
