Job Title: Maintenance Technician
About the Role:
Two 100MW flexible gas fired peaking power plants are currently being constructed in Athlone and Dublin. We are seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to form part of our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Team, responsible for the operation and maintenance of these plants on a 24/7 basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement and carry out inspections and maintenance plans on the power plant systems to ensure the consistent generation of electricity.
* Manage plant underperformance issues, including plant and equipment failures, to maximise availability and reliability.
* Investigate complex technical problems on power plant systems and identify solutions to avoid reoccurrence.
* Management of improvement projects and implementation of solutions to optimise plant performance.
* Ownership of key contracts, including developing commercial terms and supervising contractors.
* Provide highly flexible on-call cover for out of hours (nights and weekends).
Requirements:
* Minimum trade qualification in an electrical, control and instrumentation field or a mechanical engineering field.
* A minimum of five years of experience within the power generation industry or similar is desirable.
* Experience and technical knowledge of power station maintenance or maintenance practices in similar heavy process industries.
