An exciting opportunity to join a team of Environmental professionals at Boliden Tara Mines. You will support the operation and its leadership team to achieve best practice environmental performance and compliance with our operating licences. The successful applicant will work and lead in a way that supports Boliden Tara’s core values of Care, Courage & Responsibility.
Your Job – your tasks will include but are not limited to:
1. Compliance with the monitoring programme as described in the company’s Industrial Emissions licence.
2. Completing submission for Planning applications, Licence review applications and other business critical applications to state agencies.
3. Investigation, follow-up and reporting of environmental incidents to the Statutory Authorities.
4. Timely reporting of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual data to Boliden Group and Statutory Authorities.
5. Design and implementation of solutions to improve environmental performance.
6. Lead audits conducted by EPA, external 3rd Party and Boliden Group.
7. Management of external stakeholders.
8. There may be a requirement for this position to be available outside of normal working hours.
Your profile – your characteristics, knowledge, skills:
1. Work effectively as an Environmental Engineer, building strong relationships across the organisation, operating in a flexible and collaborative manner.
2. Logical Ability – You have the ability to work with complex environmental issues in a competent and confident way.
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Strong analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem solving and sound judgement.
5. Proactive, with a ‘can-do’ approach and the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
6. Honest & Ethical & confidential – Valuing integrity and honesty as a core personal value.
Experience & Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years in a similar Industry with considerable exposure to the environmental function.
2. Experience of working in a highly regulated industry.
3. A Technical College or University Degree in a Science, Environmental, Engineering or related discipline is desirable.
Additional Info:
1. This role will be full time, Mon – Fri basis from 8am – 16.30pm.
2. You may be required to work additional hours to suit the needs of the business.
