The Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Sligo. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the Finance Manager with complex accounting and tax activities, statutory reporting functions, VAT compliance, and corporate tax calculation.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Support Finance Manager in delivery of strategic projects and execution of Revenue Cooperative Compliance Framework (CCF) requirements.
* E nsure robust risk registers in place for all tax heads, with regular monitoring in place to ensure completeness.
* Co-ordinate self-reviews of tax head compliance across all Abbott Ireland sites, identifying and supporting implementation of process improvements where required.
* Responsible for VAT compliance, ensuring effective and efficient framework in place.
* Corporation tax calculation and reconciliation of monthly current tax / deferred tax.
* Preparation and filing of corporate tax returns including R & D tax credit submission.
* Completion of quarterly and annual corporate tax packs as required.
* Liaising with and reporting to Corporate Tax as required.
* Management of Product/Pricing Flows for the Abbott Ireland entity and ensuring processing is aligned with trade agreements.
* Continuous review and improvement of processes for efficient and effective tax compliance.
* E nsure delivery of statutory accounts in support of corporate, country/legal entity timelines.
* Build relationships and interact with site stakeholders to provide support, technical expertise and guidance.
* Responsible for ensuring on time completion and submission of statutory/regulatory returns for entities in scope, including CSO, Secretarial and Revenue VAT, VIES/ Intrastat and returns.
* Liaise with Internal and External Auditors as required.
* Establish culture of continuous improvement within the team, and liaise with CFS EMEA hub to ensure end to end process improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.
* Develop new and streamline existing processes and systems as required to ensure more efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders.
* E nsure that the internal control environment is operating as intended and that any improvements are implemented in a timely fashion.
* Prepare and analyse cost information for presentation to and review by key stakeholders.
Your Requirements
* Qualified Accountant – ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Hands-on and self-starter mentality.
* Able to manage responsibilities independently.
* Excellent financial analysis skills with ability to summarise data into high quality summaries.
* Strong computer skills especially MS Office & Power BI.
Prefrences
* 5+ years relevant experience in a complex global environment – preferably within a multi-currency, US GAAP based financial close.
* Tax Qualification (full / partial) – AITI or equivalent.
* BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
* SAP or other major ERP Systems experience.
