Due to continued expansion, we are currently accepting applications for a trainee accountant role within our management accounting and company secretarial team. DM’s management accounting team provides a range of management accounting services for SPVs, exploration PLCs, management companies, ICAVs, aircraft leasing entities, and other financial services entities primarily based in the UK, Europe and the United States.
The key responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining the books and records, preparation of bank reconciliations and manual journals and final preparation of the trial balance for all client entities.
* Working with various accounting packages as per client needs including Xero, Sage, Relate and Oracle.
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients.
* Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements and liaising with auditors and clients.
* Assisting with the preparation of payment runs for clients.
* Assisting with the preparation of excel schedules for loan/interest calculations and other supporting calculations.
* Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns and co-ordination of payroll internally with the payroll team at DM.
* Attendance at board meetings, where relevant, with managers for presentation of management accounts and/or financial statements.
* Assisting senior associates and managers on ad hoc accounting issues.
* Due to the firm’s global client base and international offices located globally, opportunities for international travel/placement are often available.
The Candidate…….
You will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
* A relevant third level degree (Accountancy related a bonus but not essential) with 2.1 Honours (preferred).
* Academic understanding of basic accounting principles (preferred)
* Strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
* Ability to meet deadlines/compliance requirements in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
* High level of self-motivation to perform work related tasks and to take ownership of own professional development and pass the professional exams.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
* Legal entitlement to live and work in Ireland.
