Base pay range
SureSkills Resource Placement are seeking to recruit a Temporary Data Protection Manager for placement in a prominent public sector body. This is a full-time, temporary role on a short-term contract via SureSkills Resource Placement for a period of 3 months.
The successful candidate will support the Data Protection team in the delivery of a key stage of the work plan. Working closely with the Communications Director, the role will oversee and lead the delivery of a full Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA).
This role is aligned with the public sector pay scales and will be paid at point 1 of the Higher Executive Officer (HEO) pay scale.
Please Note: Due to the nature of this role, applicants can only be considered if living in Ireland with a valid working visa (EU Citizen, Stamp 4/1G etc.). Only applicants who adhere to this criteria can be considered.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of a full Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) alongside the Director of Communications.
* Support with wider DPIAs being conducted throughout the organisation.
* Support the Data Protection Manager in the delivery of key areas of the departmental work plan.
* Manage and develop GDPR compliance documentation and practices where appropriate.
* Advise on national and European data protection laws and practices – specifically within the realm of GDPR.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders where required to gather information and deliver key objectives.
* Actively contribute to the delivery of strategic organisational goals.
* Lead on key project initiatives whilst coaching and supporting individuals where required.
* Take responsibility for and hold accountability for the delivery of agreed objectives.
* Delegate effectively to the wider team.
* Contribute to strategic decision making and team direction, where required.
* Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure timely and clear decisions on important issues are made.
* Support in policy development & implementation.
* Work closely with advisors to deliver clear funding recommendations and rationale.
* Establish and/or develop funding relationships with various stakeholders.
* Work closely with other Support Managers and Department Heads on cross-departmental project initiatives to ensure efficient delivery of objectives.
Skills:
* Demonstrable expertise across national and European data protection laws and practices.
* In-depth understanding of GDPR.
* Strong knowledge of technical and organisational measures in relation to data protection compliance.
* Proven experience in managing and developing GDPR.
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
* Experience in people management/leadership.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
* Ability to critically analyse and think analytically.
* Excellent ability to work as part of and drive an effective team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
