Title: Risk & Assurance Advisor
Duration/Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Mobile Working Pattern (Time/Hours): 39 hours per week
The purpose of the Risk & Assurance Advisor is to actively support the business on risk and assurance matters by conducting regular site visits, assuring the business that the right standards are in place and undertaking regular audits and monitor progress against the site improvement plans.
This role will develop strong working relationships with operational teams and together identify improvements and practical solutions, while working closely with the wider Ireland Risk & Assurance team to support operations and where appropriate, support and liaise with external stakeholders, regulators and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular formal site audits & engagement visits as directed in the Safety Management system / as per Veolia's Minimum Requirements (VMR) across a number of disciplines including, Clean and Wastewater treatment sites, facilities management contracts, hazardous waste facilities and related construction projects
* Assist or carry out accident / incident investigations in a timely manner
* Monitor compliance with and provide technical support and advice to site teams to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental legislation and Veolia's Minimum Requirements; take corrective action as necessary
* Collaborate with and support the wider UK & Ireland Risk & Assurance team to ensure R&A team and department project objectives are fulfilled
* Support site & R&A teams with ISO 45001 audits
* Support the use, roll out and development of Veolia management systems and processes across all sites
* Support the timely and accurate production of statistics / data for team and other business reports
* Liaise with external regulators and clients as necessary
* Support the roll out of, and / or deliver health, safety and environmental training plans and packages
* Comply with the all Veolia R&A reporting and administrative requirements
* Attend and contribute to Ireland Risk & Assurance and other management meetings and briefings as required
Requirements:
* Recognised EHS Qualification
* 2-3 years experience in a similar role
* EHS pharmaceutical experience desirable but not essential
* Able to build a good rapport with colleagues and site teams to promote a positive H&S culture
* Excellent communication and influencing skills and an ability to work as part of a team
* Good IT and report writing skills
* M&E experience is preferred but not essential
