Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of audit and accounts engagements, ensuring all projects meet professional standards and are completed within set deadlines and agreed timeframes.
* Oversee and review statutory financial statements, as well as accounts files for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
* Review corporation tax returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
* Supervise junior staff, providing guidance on technical queries and supporting their professional development, including conducting regular performance appraisals.
* Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the year, ensuring exceptional client service at all times.
* Collaborate with other departments to identify and meet all potential client needs effectively.
* Manage the profitability and recoverability of work in progress, ensuring that monthly billable work targets are met.
* Continuously advance technical knowledge through reading and attending relevant courses, fulfilling the Institutes CPD requirements.
* Assist in developing proposals for new work and participate in formal presentations to prospective clients.
* Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
* Provide ad hoc business consultancy services as needed.
* Perform any other duties that fall within the scope and purpose of the role, as requested by the director.
* Uphold the firms code of ethics and business conduct.
Requirements:
* Hold a professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent.
* Possess at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a fast-paced audit department or practice.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
* Strong technical knowledge, including UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS, and ISA standards.
* A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Confident in client interactions, with strong client-facing abilities.
* Self-motivated, with a proven ability to implement and drive improvements and changes within the practice.
* A self-starter with strong initiative, excellent prioritization, and time management skills.
