Role Overview
The Rehabilitation Specialist Healthcare Assistant supports the Physiotherapist in delivering high-quality rehabilitation and care services to residents. This includes assisting with therapy sessions, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring compliance with prescribed treatment plans.
Core Responsibilities:
* Quality of Care: Provide respectful care to patients and collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to support rehabilitation goals.
* Patient Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and report any concerns or incidents.
* Team Collaboration: Work with the IDT, participate in care planning and meetings, and resolve conflicts positively.
* Professional Development: Maintain qualifications, complete training, and contribute to team knowledge and skills.
Specific Duties:
* Communication and Relationships: Maintain confidentiality, treat everyone with respect, and report changes in patient condition.
* Respiratory Care: Assist with respiratory interventions as directed by nursing and therapy staff.
* Eating and Drinking: Support patients with feeding, monitor food intake, and encourage hydration.
* Intimate Care: Assist with toileting, personal care, and maintain dignity and infection control standards.
* Mobilising: Help patients with mobility, rehabilitation exercises, and use of appropriate equipment.
* Ward/Department Activities: Participate in group therapy, assist with non-clinical tasks, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
