Residential services are located in Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon and Cavan.
Background The purpose of this role is to lead Orchard Residential which is a mainstream children's service that provides 24/7 residential care to children in care referred by Tusla.
Orchard Residential employs in the region of 100 staff who have a social care or equivalent qualification.
The service operates 9 residential houses in Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, and Cavan, these houses provide support to between 1 and 6 young people across a dual occupancy, mainstream or displaced young people setting.
Key Responsibilities The primary purpose of the role is to take leadership responsibility for the management of Orchard Residential to include the day-to-day provision of care to children and young people, strategic development of the service and the expansion and growth of the service To oversee all aspects of care to the children and young people in the service to include the provision of therapeutic supports within an agreed model of care that deliver the best possible outcomes To ensure the provision of a quality service by ensuring compliance with regulatory inspections and the development and deployment of a quality management system in line with the strategy of the overall company To implement the company wide people management strategy to develop a positive workplace that promotes staff recruitment and retention To implement the strategic plans as agreed with the board of the Orchard Care Group to include the development of new residential houses and other complimentary services as appropriate To provide robust financial stewardship for the service ensuring optimisation of revenue and prudent cost management whilst delivering a quality service To represent the service with key stakeholders such as the Tusla placement team, the Tusla inspection team, other relevant regulatory groups and other participants in the care sector.
To work with our other Regional Director in ORC to ensure consistency of standards and quality systems across all houses.
The Regional Director will Have a social care or equivalent primary degree to honours level that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU Have a minimum of four years' experience, at least senior management level, in a children's residential service Will ideally have an additional management or business qualification Will be proactive and independent and have strong follow up skills Will be competent in combining the challenges of day-to-day service provision with developing and implementing a strategic direction for the service Will have experience of working with Tusla National Placement team and evidence of building positive working relationships and stakeholders Will hold a full manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland Have full eligibility and availability to work with us
